Are Avocados a Superfood?
Avocados. Are they a fad or a superfood? I will let you answer the question on your own. That is after I tell you what they contain.
They are a great source of magnesium, healthy fiber, potassium and good fats (monounsaturated fats). Avocados are good for heart health. They also are full of antioxidants which reduce the risk of cancer.
A half an avocado has in it 2 grams of protein, and 26% of your DRV of vitamin k, 20% of folate,17% vitamin c, 15% magnesium, 10% vitamin e, 13% vitamin b6, 14% potassium etc.…
They also have a bit of copper, iron, zinc and other vitamins and minerals.
So, they definitely are good for you. Whether they are a superfood or not, I guess that’s up to your discretion.
